Join our Invigorate programme to receive regular updates about future sessions. It’s free to join.
You do not need to be a member to access most of the programme’s activities, although some are for members only.
When your application is accepted, we’ll send you a membership card. It will come with a letter including full details about the programme.
If you have a long-term medical condition or disability that requires a bespoke or more prescriptive exercise programme, our Exercise Referral service might be more appropriate for you.

Better memberships with referrals from health professionals
If you have been referred to the programme by a health professional, you can apply for a free Better concessionary membership card.
The card will give you a 50% discount on pay-as-you-go sessions at GLL-managed gyms and swimming pools in Cambridge.
- Swimming sessions will cost £3 instead of £6
- Gym sessions will cost £5 instead of £10
This offer is open only to people who are not already Better members. You can only use the card to pay for swimming or gym sessions. You cannot use it for monthly memberships.
If you are eligible for a Better card, your Invigorate membership letter will include full details of how to claim it. You can only collect it from Abbey Leisure Centre or Parkside Pools – you cannot apply for it online.
