Tennis courts

We have 18 tennis courts around the city. You can reserve them in advance, and most of them are free to use. You need to bring your own rackets and balls.

We have courts at:

  • Cherry Hinton Hall park: one court
  • Christ’s Pieces: four courts – you must reserve and pay for a court before you can play
  • Coleridge recreation ground: two courts, in opposite corners of the recreation ground
  • Jesus Green: six courts, including two grass courts – you must reserve and pay for a court before you can play
  • Lammas Land: one court
  • Nightingale recreation ground: two courts – you must reserve a court before you can play
  • Trumpington Meadows: one court
  • Trumpington recreation ground: one court

Scroll down to see a map of these courts.

We encourage you to reserve a court before you arrive, to ensure that you can play when you want to. See below for how to do this.

Please remember to:

  • limit your playing time to 45 minutes if other people are waiting to play, or offer to play doubles
  • limit noise on the court, especially early in the morning or late at night
  • take all your litter with you when you leave the court
  • give priority to people who have reserved a court, if you have not done so
  • tell us if the courts or nets are damaged in any way

Private coaching is not allowed.

Reserve a court

The courts at Christ’s Pieces and Jesus Green are not free to use – you must reserve and pay for them. The costs for each 45-minute session are:

  • 7am to 12.15pm: £2
  • 12.15 to 2.30pm: £5
  • 2.30 to 6.15pm: £2
  • 6.15pm until dusk: £5

All our other courts are free to use. They are available to reserve, and priority should be given to people who have done so.

The courts at Nightingale recreation ground are only available to people who reserve.

You can reserve a court, and pay for it if necessary, on the ClubSpark website. You can also scan the QR code next to the gate at each court to reserve one.

Reserve a tennis court

If you cancel a reservation for a paid court at least 12 hours in advance, we will give you credit to use the court at another suitable time.
