We visit each of our tenant households to carry out an audit of the property and tenants. These audits help us ensure we are making the best use of our limited housing stock.
During an audit we check the condition of the property. We then arrange appropriate action to repair or replace items where necessary.
The audits also allow us to make sure our information about who lives in the property is up to date. This helps us to:
- deliver quality and timely services that are tailored to individual needs
- identify any support needs and refer tenants to the appropriate agencies
- identify households that have more space than they need. We can support you to move to a smaller council home if appropriate
- identify tenancy fraud and other breaches of tenancy
We conduct most audits without making an appointment. This helps us ensure that our properties are being used correctly and are occupied by the people they should be. We will return by appointment if you prefer.
Where relevant, we use general information about our tenants from the audits to inform other projects.
