The standards for safeguarding and protecting children in sport are issued by the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU):
The Child Protection in Sport Unit works to ensure that children and young people involved in sport are safeguarded from harm. They provide a wide range of help and advice for:
- children and young people
- parents and carers
- clubs and coaches.

Safeguarding courses
Living Sport, our county sports partnership regularly organises safeguarding courses across the county, some of which are held in Cambridge. Contact Living Sport for more information.
Many national governing bodies of sport now also include mandatory safeguarding courses within coaching awards. This ensures candidates are knowledgeable on safeguarding issues. For more information, please contact your national governing body.
