In the last few days you may have seen media reports, and statements from local political parties, in response to the revised proposals for the Greater Cambridge Partnership's (GCP) Making Connections programme to upgrade public transport, improve air quality and cut congestion in Cambridge.
The GCP Executive Board will now meet on 28 September to make a formal decision on these latest proposals.
Whatever the outcome, the city council will continue to work closely with partners to tackle congestion, improve air quality, and reduce emissions in Cambridge including through improved public transport and better, safer infrastructure for sustainable travel.
We are grateful for the contribution residents, businesses and community groups have made so far to the GCP’s Making Connections proposals and we will work with our partners towards transport solutions which are fair for all who live in, work in or visit Cambridge.
The Greater Cambridge Partnership issued a statement following the meeting of their Joint Assembly on 7 September.
