Darwin Green Community Rooms is in Arbury in northwest Cambridge.

The brand-new two-storey building has two large rooms that you can hire for events, parties and meetings.

The centre is fully accessible throughout with a lift to the first floor, and has free wifi.

Opening hours

If you want to visit the centre to see whether it is suitable for your event, you can do so from 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday.

On Wednesdays you can drop in for a free cup of tea or coffee and a chat between 9am and 12.30pm.

Public transport and parking

Stagecoach Bus 5 stops on Lawrence Weaver Road, which is a short walk from the centre. Check Traveline for routes and times.

There is a cycle path to the centre from Histon Road, and cycle racks in the public square at the front of the building.

The centre does not have any parking spaces, but on-street parking is available nearby.

Public-use rooms

The downstairs room (42m2) can hold up to 30 people standing or 25 seated. It has a kitchen with an oven, fridge and freezer.

The upstairs room (52m2) can hold up to 40 people standing or 35 seated. It has a small kitchen with a fridge.

Both rooms have tables and chairs and a large screen that you can plug your laptop into.

There are toilets on each floor and baby-changing facilities.

Hiring the rooms

Contact us if you are interested in hiring a room. We’ll get back to you within seven days to discuss your requirements and arrange payment.

You can hire the rooms outside of the centre’s normal opening hours, including on weekends.

You are expected to leave the hall in the same clean and tidy state you find it in – we provide cleaning equipment. This includes stacking tables and chairs, sweeping up and closing windows. We will pass any costs for cleaning, loss or damage incurred at your event on to you.
