Cambridge City Council is currently controlled by the Labour party.
Councillor Cameron Holloway is the Leader of Cambridge City Council and Chair of the Cabinet.
The Council consists of:
- 23 Labour councillors
- 12 Liberal Democrat councillors
- 5 Green Party councillors
- 1 Conservative councillor
- 1 Independent councillor
This follows the elections in May 2024, by-elections in July and September 2024 and May 2025, and a councillor leaving the Labour party in August 2025.
Cabinet
The Cabinet is the collective decision-making body of councillors for all high impact, strategic decisions within the council.
The Cabinet consists of 10 Cabinet members, including the Leader and Deputy Leader. Each Cabinet member has lead responsibility for several council services. View the Cabinet members.
Cabinet meet monthly in a formal meeting. Non-Cabinet councillors, officers and members of the public can attend or watch online.
