Social housing tenants ‘getting to know you’ survey

The Regulator of Social Housing requires housing providers to understand the needs of our tenants and demonstrate how we use information about them to inform and improve our services.

We want to understand our tenants’ diverse needs, including needs arising from:

  • characteristics protected by the Equality Act
  • other vulnerabilities and issues, such as a language barrier

To help us do this, we have launched a ‘getting to know you’ survey for our social housing tenants. The survey will run from October 2026 until July 2027.

It’s voluntary to take part, but by doing so you will help us:

  • maintain accurate records
  • better understand the needs of our tenants
  • identify where reasonable adjustments might be required
  • ensure our services are accessible and inclusive

The survey will include questions about:

  • your personal details and emergency contact details
  • whether you have a disability and long-term health condition
  • your gender, ethnicity, religion or belief and sexual orientation
  • your main language and whether you need an interpreter or translation services
  • people living in your household not named on the tenancy

Take part in the survey

We will contact you to ask you to complete the survey in one of the following ways:

  • through your account on our housing portal
  • by email
  • by telephone
  • by post
  • in person

We can provide the survey as an online form or a printed version. We can provide information in alternative formats including large print, braille and audio.

Council staff conducting the survey will introduce themselves and provide identification.

Our privacy notice explains how we will manage, use and store personal information.
