- Location: Parkers’ Piece
- Artist: Same Sky, working with local artists
- Format: Community engagement, workshops, parade event
We commissioned Same Sky to produce a public artwork that marked the occasion of the 2012 Olympic torch relay through Cambridge.
The project engaged more than 50 schools and local groups in a series of arts workshops. They could produce flags, costumes and items to wave at the event.
The four-month outreach program ended with a celebration of local dance and music, and a fabulous parade by local people.
On the day of the torch relay, groups paraded onto the main stage at the Big Weekend, in a colourful and exuberant display of what they had made.
