If you are named on a vehicle or operator’s licence but do not have a taxi driver’s licence, you must be registered as a non-driver proprietor.
There is a fee for this service – check our taxi licensing fees.
You must renew your registration every year.
Register
Email us the following documents:
- a non-driver owner registration form [PDF, 0.2MB]
- a completed Basic Disclosure dated within the last month
- a certificate of completion for the Blue Lamp Taxi Safeguarding online course issued within the last 12 months
- proof of your ID, such as your DVLA licence, passport or birth or marriage certificate
- one of the following proof of address from within the last three months, unless stated otherwise:
- mortgage statement issued in the last 12 months
- bank or building society account or credit card statement
- letter confirming the opening of your current bank or building society account
- financial statement for a pension or similar issued in the last 12 months
- P45 or P60 statement issued in the last 12 months
- Council Tax bill issued in the last 12 months
- utility bill
- benefit statement
- document from central or local government
- receipt of payment for registration
Renew your registration
You must renew your registration while named as a proprietor on a vehicle licence. To do this, send us:
- a completed Basic Disclosure dated within the last month
- a certificate of completion for the Blue Lamp Taxi Safeguarding online course (needed every three years)
- receipt of payment for renewing your registration
Changes in your circumstances
Contact us to tell us about any changes in your circumstances. This includes:
- a new address or contact details
- being investigated for any criminal offence, whether you are charged or not
