Young people aged 14 to 18 who are interested in learning more about careers in the cultural sector can now apply for the council's 2024 work experience opportunities.
Monday 1 July to Friday 5 July 2024: Work Experience Week
For those in Year 10 of full-time education who are seeking a work experience placement.
Spend a week at Cambridge Corn Exchange gaining a greater understanding of the industry and what it is like working behind the scenes.
Throughout the week, attendees will spend time alongside other students, meeting various Corn Exchange teams, including Marketing, Front of House, Programming, Venue Management, and Technical.
They will also be able to meet with the council's wider Cultural Services teams, such as Arts Development and City Events, and take part in practical tasks based on real life scenarios.
There will be an opportunity to sit in and observe meetings, ask questions, participate in workshops, and shadow a team member of choice.
For more information and to apply, email artsandculture@cambridge.gov.uk.
Monday 8 July to Friday 12 July 2024: Work Insight and Skills Experience

This year, these organisations are:
- Cambridge Corn Exchange
- Cambridge Junction
- Cambridge University and Press
- Fitzwilliam Museum
- Kettle’s Yard
Attendees will also spend a day with the RAF learning about the psychology of resilience, coping mechanisms, and goal achievement models.
