The Mill Road Project is a collaboration between Cambridgeshire local authority bodies, including Cambridge City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council.

A design team led by local design practice 5th Studio has been commissioned to develop a holistic spatial design for Mill Road.

The work will be shaped through engagement with a wide range of stakeholders and users, and will deliver short-term improvements to help build momentum for further enhancements.

The project seeks to establish an ambitious, comprehensive vision for the area, developed through engagement with local stakeholders and the public.

The co-design process aims to explore how the overall scheme can be delivered in phases, identifying priority ‘quick win’ interventions to inform early action, and co-ordinating with other planned works to maximise the overall impact of improvements along this vital street.
