Buying a leasehold property

If you are considering buying a leasehold property on the open market we encourage you to make enquiries via your solicitor.

We can provide a sales enquiry pack, which will provide you with all the relevant information you’ll need about the property.

There is a charge of £150 for the enquiry pack. Contact us to request a pack and we will provide our bank transfer details for payment. We’ll send you the pack within five working days of receipt of your payment.

If you’re purchasing a leasehold property as an investment and intend to rent it out, check our advice on subletting your leasehold property.

The majority of our leasehold properties have more than 90 years remaining on their leases. The seller can tell you exactly how long is left on the lease of the property you are thinking of buying.

As a leaseholder you will be responsible for looking after your home, and for paying your rent and service charge. You will also be responsible for the behaviour of your household and visitors.

Your rights as a leaseholder are governed by laws, in particular the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
