The River Cam is a popular and important part of the city.
A punting tour along the world-famous college ‘backs’ is one of the pleasures of a visit to Cambridge. And a lot of space along the banks of the river is dedicated to boat mooring.
There is mooring space for 70 residential boats and eight visitors’ boats. These areas are listed on the boat mooring areas page, which includes a map.
The waiting list for a residential boat mooring licence is currently closed due to the number of people waiting for a space. We’ll reopen it when the estimated wait is less than 18 months.
The Conservators of the River Cam and Camboaters provide more useful information about mooring in Cambridge.
