12 weeks to wellbeing is a programme of weekly support and physical activity to help adults make positive changes to their lifestyle.
The programme is delivered by Cambridge City Council with funding from Cambridgeshire County Council.
What's included?
- Choice of physical activity pathway
- Choose from six different activities including swimming, fitness, tennis, rugby and dance.
- With different activities, timings and locations to choose from, you will hopefully find an option that interests you and can fit into your routine.
- All physical activity sessions are delivered in partnership with expert local sports and physical activity partners in Cambridge.
- Programme of in-person and virtual healthy lifestyle workshops
- Includes support around nutrition, goal-setting, sleep and stress management.
- Workshops will be delivered at different times throughout the 12-week programme by wellbeing experts.
- Weekly digital support including practical tips and tools to make positive changes to your lifestyle
- Printed support booklet to help you track your progress

Referrals and eligibility
Referrals for the September 2024 programme have closed. A new programme will start in January 2025.
We invite referrals from anyone who meets all of the following criteria:
- must be resident in Cambridgeshire or registered with a GP in Cambridgeshire
- must be aged 18 or over
- must have a body mass index (BMI) equal to or greater than 25 (if you are from a South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean family background, your BMI needs to be above 23)
- must not currently be participating in any regular structured physical activity such as an exercise class or group session
- must be committed to making a positive change to their lifestyle and dedicate the time to attend the sessions in the programme
