What it covers

This Policy covers the handling of personal data which Cambridge City Council collects when you email us or visit our website (www.cambridge.gov.uk), and which identifies you as an individual (e.g. name, address).

How information is collected

We do not use cookies on our site and you can use our website to find out about the Council and its services without providing any information about yourself.

Personal data are only collected if you provide them to enable us to provide a service, send you more information or as feedback on our services or website or for other reasons which will be specified when the information is collected.

What we do with the data

Cambridge City Council processes personal data in compliance with the Data Protection Act and our Data Protection Policy provides more information about how we handle your personal data.

Unless we are required to do otherwise for statutory reasons, we:
1) will not pass on your personal information to others without your specific consent;
2) will only use your personal information for the purposes specified at collection;
3) will not keep it longer than necessary;
4) will treat your personal data confidentially.
Only those staff who have a genuine business need will have access to it.
