Food safety

Eggs

We have seven field officers responsible for the safety of food provided by local business, whether they be shops, restaurants, sandwich bars, canteens or food factories.

These inspectors investigate incidents of food poisoning and carry out regular inspections of food premises in accordance with standards set by the government's Food Standards Agency.

Occasionally it is necessary to take formal action against a food business, the reasoning behind such a decision can be found in the enforcement policy.
