CAMBRIDGE CITY COUNCIL – REGISTERING TO VOTE
Cambridge City Council has started the annual canvass to update the register of electors and is sending out annual canvass forms to every property in the city.
Every year a new electoral register is compiled by sending out annual canvass forms to every property in the area. By registering to vote, you’ll make sure you are included on the new electoral register and are able to vote at any elections held next year.
“Next year there will be the European Parliamentary election and the county council elections. If you’re not registered to vote, then you can’t make a decision about who represents you by voting at these elections or any other elections that may be held during the year” said Rob Hammond, Electoral Registration Officer for Cambridge.
“Registering to vote is simple, quick and easy. We have pre-printed details of people currently registered for the property. You can simply complete, sign and post the form back to us or, if there are no changes to the elector details, you have the option to register by internet, freephone and also this year by SMS text. It will only take a few minutes for you to secure your right to vote."
