We have introduced a voluntary code for businesses to help reduce litter in Cambridge. The code was launched to coincide with the new smoking laws, and aims to help address the potential rise in smoking related litter on our streets - as well as some of the existing problems with fast food litter.

Street litter is a serious problem for cities such as Cambridge, much of which is dropped by late night revellers grabbing a take-away on the way home after closing time.

Businesses in Cambridge who are interested in signing up to the code are asked to make a series of pledges to help reduce litter outside their premises.
