Keeping Cambridge safe, clean and attractive

StreetScene and City Rangers

Both of these teams work to ensure that Cambridge is kept safe, clean and attractive.

StreetScene

Our StreetScene team is responsible for a wide range of services including litter picking, street sweeping, grass cutting, graffiti removal and toilet cleaning.

We have over 100 staff working from early in the morning to late at night.

We also work closely with residents, community groups and campaign groups such as Cleaner Cambridge Campaign to ensure we are maintaining Cambridge to the highest standard.

If you want to pass on your views to help us maintain the streets and open spaces of Cambridge please contact us.

City Rangers

City Rangers provide a street-level, face-to-face contact point for the public to raise any cleanliness and public safety issues they might have concerning their neighbourhood. There are eight City Rangers who work across the whole of Cambridge and carry out small repairs and maintenance.

Rangers liaise closely with council departments to help make Cambridge a cleaner and safer environment for living and working. They work with resident representatives and councillors and attend area committees.

Much of the City Rangers' work is very hands-on and includes removing small graffiti, removing flyposters, talking to schools and reporting serious street care problems such as abandoned vehicles. They also work with residents to help them improve their waste recycling rates.
