Information on methods of payment and how often you have to pay

Credit card

There are four easy ways to pay your business rates bill:

Pay online

You can use our online payments service to pay your business rates.

Pay by Direct Debit

If you pay by Direct Debit the monthly payments are automatically paid from your bank account.

Direct Debit is the most convenient way to pay your bill and the majority of our customers already choose to pay this way.

To set up a Direct Debit, download and print the business rates Direct Debit mandate and return it to us.

After you have set up a Direct Debit, please continue to make payment by your current method until you receive a new bill showing details of the Direct Debit payments that will be requested from your bank.

Pay by telephone

You can pay by calling 01223 457779. You will need your business rates account number and your debit or credit card.

You will be given a confirmation number at the end of the transaction, so it may also be useful to have a pen and paper.

Please be aware that this telephone number is for payments only; the contact, queries and appeals page provides details of how to contact us if you have any other enquiry.

Pay in person

You can make a payment in person with cash, cheque or a debit or credit card.

Payments can be made at the customer service centre on Regent Street or at the housing offices.

Please make cheques payable to Cambridge City Council.
