If you are one of the following you may be entitled to claim Housing Benefit:
- Students who are pensioners
- Any student with a dependent child or children
- Students who are disabled
- A student who is in receipt of Income Support
- A student solely responsible for a child boarded out to them by a local authority or voluntary organisation
- A student under 19 years of age and who is not in higher education
- Partners (non students) of students are entitled to claim for Housing Benefit
- Deaf students in receipt of Disabled Students Allowance
- A student who received Income Support as a severely mentally or physically handicapped person (within 19 months prior to 1 September 1990)
If you're not entitled to Housing benefit, you may be entitled to exemptions/discounts from Council Tax.
